The Draft Itinerary
At this stage we are still
looking at options, but have a rough plan as follows:
- A day or two in Mexico
City to visit the Teotihuacán Pyramids etc.
- Fly to Miami & stop
for a night.
- Fly on to San Juan the
capital of Costa Rica. This country is a travelers “jewel”
which is packed with fabulous attractions. We will take in destinations
such as Tortugueros, Carillo, Cocovado & Monteverde National Parks
& the Lapas River.
- From Costa Rica we will
travel overland to Guatemala, a land rich in history & natural wonders.
Special places include Antigua City, Lake Atitlan, Chichicastenango
Market, Flores & Tiktal Mayan Ruins & Lake Peten Itzá.
- From Costa Rica we will
move on into Belize, an English speaking country surrounded by nations
using Spanish. Belize has spectacular beaches, world class snorkeling
and wonderful forests.
-
The Yucatan Peninsula is the next destination. Here we will visit the
ancient city of Merida & the surrounding Mayan ruins.
- After the modern flesh
palaces of Cancun we plan to fly to Havana, capital of Cuba.
- Cuba is a nation of brilliant
beaches & is an iconic “off the beaten track” destination.
We plan to enjoy it before it catches up with the 21st century. Extra
travel to other Caribbean Islands is also possible.
- We will finish the tour
in Havana. People can fly on from here to Madrid & other places
or return via Cancun to Miami.
